Description

This is my Blood Elf, she's a level 90 Rogue and my main toon X3 I made up her outfit here, too tired to attempt drawing her awesome rogue gear lol But yeah, this is Ama, I loves her <3 Did this in a half hourish~

The following is the complete backstory of Amalthara and her family (for my own personal reference, and because I love to write detailed backstories). If you don't want any spoilers and wish to learn this info through RP, do not read any further-- otherwise, enjoy the read! Also, I am an artist irl and often do art for my roleplays. If you'd like to see my work check it out here: otaku1811.deviantart.com Thanks! <3

Physical Description

Amalthara is quite young for a bloodelf, having been born in Quel'thalas shortly before the scourge invasion 40 years ago. She has a face that reveals her mischievous nature with full lips that often curl up in a knowing grin. Her hair is the color of ebony, flowing in long, wavy locks down her back. Her skin is a golden tan from being outdoors most of the time whilst on her journies across Azeroth. Many who've met her consider her quite attractive, with her slender, curvy body and well-trained muscles beneath soft skin. She loves to wear ornate leather gear, though on occasion she likes to dress up in civilian clothing. Sometimes her work requires her to disguise herself in order to stalk a target and get close enough to complete her mission. Either way, Amalthara is a rogue you won't soon forget... or possibly the last face you will ever see.

Almathara's Story

Lakhan Swiftblade and Thelesia Shadowlurk, a warrior and a rogue respectively, served Kael'thas Sunstrider and the nobles of his court loyally for many centuries, thriving in the once shining city of Quel'thalas. The two fell in love and were married beneath their favorite tree in the Eversong forest, sealing their bond for life. Although they themselves were not high up in the societal ranks due to their inability to master the arcane, the couple managed to live comfortably as they settled into Quel'thalas. Lakhan worked as a mercenary, keeping the ever-present Amani trolls at bay and fighting to protect smaller elven villages in Eversong and the Ghostlands. His wife worked as a rogue for hire, assassinating dangerous monsters and foes of their people. She fought for a higher cause, feeling the lives she took were for the greater good of her people and the citizens of Azeroth as a whole.

Fifteen years before Arthas drove his Scourge war machine into the city and destroyed most of the high elves there, Thelesia discovered she was pregnant. Two twins were born on the night of a full moon, and the couple named the girl Amalthara and the boy Amadéus. They were spirited children, loving to cause mischief and spar with one another. Both took after their parents in more ways than one and neither child had much of an affinity for the use of arcane, Their parents knew it would be best to teach them how to fight once they became teenagers just in case war ever threatened their peaceful city. With Lakhan away for weeks at a time doing his work, Thelesia was often the one left with the children, and both Amalthara and Amadéus leaned more on the side of rogue combat.

Their father had two pairs of wooden daggers carved for them to train with and their mother saw to the rest. Lakhan and Thelesia had high hopes for their children, hoping someday they too would fight for noble reasons and help those in need. When the twins reached the age of fifteen they were finally given real daggers forged of fine steel. Thelesia took the siblings with her on several of her simple missions, teaching them with a hands-on approach. Amalthara always seemed to be ahead of her brother, slightly more skilled and agile, but she looked up to him nonetheless.

Finally the day came when the Scourge scarred their lands and destroyed the once magnificent city of Quel'thalas. Lakhan fought valiantly against the army of undead on the frontlines, but he was quickly overrun and slain with hundreds of others as Arthas' army poured into the city. Amalthara and her brother abandoned their home, fleeing with their mother to find a safe haven. Thelesia refused to let either of them fight, knowing they were still merely fledglings in combat and they were no match for a fight of that proportion. The three of them fled to Silvermoon and hid in an abandoned tavern but were soon cornered by more Scourge warriors as they flooded into the building. In one last ditch effort to protect her children, Thelesia drew her poisoned blades and fought to her last breath. Amalthara and her brother managed to hide up in the rafters, looking down below as their mother was torn apart and devoured. Amalthara began to sob and her brother quickly covered her mouth and held her, trying to keep her from looking at the carnage below.

Eventually the Scourge were fought back and Silvermoon was salvaged from the aftermath once their ruler Kael'thas had returned. Amalthara and Amadéus were among the survivors, having stayed hidden until the city was once again safe. They had returned to their former home, only to find it had been demolished. Everything they ever had and loved was gone along with their parents. The two young rogues were left with nothing and became Silvermoon street-rats, turning to petty thievery and simple mercenary jobs just to survive. Both of them suffered bouts of depression and were fueled by rage toward the Scourge, dreaming of the day they would be strong enough to join the brave heroes of Azeroth and march on Ice=crown citadel to defeat the Lich King.

Growing tired of their constant daily struggles and sleeping on the streets or in shady inns, the siblings decided it was time to move on and find someone to continue teaching them how to fight. There were many skilled rogues that frequented Murder Row in SIlvermoon and that was the first place the twins went. It wasn't long before they were excelling at combat, specializing in assassination techniques. When Amalthara and her brother were confident enough in their skills, they finally ventured out of Silvermoon, traveling to the fallen city of Lordaeron where they met an undead mage named Iriam.

The mage saw their talent and decided to hire them for various jobs here and there, tackling vile enemies of Queen Sylvanas and the forsaken. Throughout their journies, Amalthara and her brother learned more and more about the state of the world and their Horde brethren. The siblings found themselves traveling all over Azeroth, fighting and striving to fulfill their destinies. Amalthara was fascinated by the various people and races she met along her travels, though she never let herself grow too close to anyone. Her brother was her only true companion.

Eventually the two were enlisted with a Horde battalion set out to fight the Lich King head on. The battle was hard fought, but Arthas was finally dethroned and Amalthara and Amadéus were finally able to close that chapter of their lives. However, an emptiness still remained inside of them and even throughout the turmoil of the cataclysm, the twins could not seem to find their path. Arthas'death did little to take away their pain.

Amalthara has since continued doing work for Iriam, taking on various assassination jobs and finding herself killing more for gold rather than a higher purpose. She feels guilt, and even remorse for what she has become since the death of Arthas, knowing her parents would be disappointed. Amadéus tries to stay upbeat and remind her of all the things they had accomplished in their travels and all the innocent lives they had saved, especially when they helped to defeat Deathwing and bring peace back to the planet. Even so, Amalthara goes through each day wondering what her purpose is and if she will ever fill the emptiness she feels within.

Where will Amalthara's story go from here? That depends on you RPers! I hope you enjoyed reading her backstory. For those of you who may be interested in roleplaying with me: I love character development, quality writing, emersive plotlines, and making the best stories I can. I am not an expert of WoW lore, but I also try to stay consistent with it to the best of my ability. I like to move around and not simply stand in one spot and RP out dialogue, I try to really engage in the world around me and will even pull NPCs into the story if necessary. I love a good bit of drama, angst, action, and romance... so if you also like these things, PM me and let's start crafting an epic story!
